This is just a small clip from Bill Hicks’ show Revelations – full show here – from 1993. Unfortunately Hicks died of pancreatic cancer the following year. It’s interesting to note that this show which was shot in London, with the impersonations of Satanic sexual acts and all, aired unedited on all four BBC channels at the time in the UK. Hicks had a hard time booking comedy clubs here in the US due to his content and Letterman completely removed his segment from the show just before it aired.
It should also be pointed that most comedians agree that Denis Leary stole not only Bill Hicks’ material but his persona as well. Hicks had this to say about it, “I have a scoop for you. I stole his act. I camouflaged it with punchlines, and to really throw people off, I did it before he did.”
