The cpu is branded as just a bit recent design number but it and the GPU are most likely the similar speed as the 3GS. The old Contact using the same Processor and GPU since the 3G was faster. Apart from getting the clock speed turned up higher the Contact has less software programs to run because it is not a telephone. It ought to defeat any iPhone to this day in overall performance.
