In case you didn’t know, one of the hottest (and one of my favorite) shows on TV right now is Friday Night Lights. An expansion on the featured film with the exact same title, this TV series is all about how high school football is serious business in small town Texas. I’m not usually one to get sucked into these types of soap opera drama series, however, I have an excuse for this one because it is about football. And isn’t my name Mike Honcho? But like I said, it is just an excuse. In the last two episodes I watched, there was probably less than 2 minutes of actual football footage. The rest of the time was filled with typical teenage struggles like arguing with parents, sex, psycho girlfriends and the occasional bar room pool hustle. Did I turn it off due to the lack of football footage? I think not.

On the show there are two female characters who are supposed to be high schoolers, but look very much of age. One plays the role of the head cheerleader, Lyla Garrity, who has everything going for her. The other, Tyra Collette, has a train wreck of a family life and isn’t very excited about her academic well being, but is quite eager to get her freak on. The bottom line is that they are both pretty hot, promiscuous and hate each other’s guts.

Lyla Garrity has always been portrayed as the sweet little girl next door while Collette has been a bad ass from day one. However, as of late, we’ve seen a meaner side of Lyla Garrity and a softer side to Tyra Collette. It seems that they both can go from zero to bitch at any given moment.

So the question is, which one would you pick to win a head to head match up?

My money is on Tyra Collette. She just seems tougher to me and definitely has the size advantage. I don’t know how tall she is in real life, but she looks at least 6 foot on TV. She is one tall drink of water.

Lyla Garrity definitely wouldn’t go down without a fight. She is in great shape and despite her size disadvantage, she can probably snap kick Tyra Collette square in the chin like Jackie Chan.

Even though I think Tyra Collette would win a battle between the two, I don’t think I’d actually like to see it take place. I think the mystery is a lot more fun than knowing the actual outcome.
