Top 10 Songs in Mario Paint
Sep 4th, 2008 - by Rodge Rockwell - Category: Hilarious Videos, Music VideosMaybe it was the years I spent playing the original Super Mario Bros game on Nintendo, but these songs just sound “right” to me. I’m now beginning to question why all songs aren’t composed and performed using Mario Paint? Why even have instruments when you can make music that would make Mozart weep with joy?
10. Don’t Stop Believin’ - Journey
Bro, you know like this song and get pumped up by it. What if Mario had stopped believing when he was trying to rescue the princess from Bowser?
9. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
To this generation Wayne’s World probably made this song more popular than it would have been otherwise. But even if Wayne’s World hadn’t brought it back, this rendition in Mario Paint on YouTube surely would have done so. Mama……Ooohoooohooooooo…..
8. Sweet Child O’ Mine - Guns N’ Roses
You know, I thought nothing in the world could strip this song from its intense passion and “kick assness” (I trademarked that phrase). However, Mario Paint has seemed to strip it from all that and just make it sound totally lame. Enjoy.
7. The Office Theme
It’s an amazing show, with an amazing theme song, which only gets more amazing when Mario is jumping on notes represented by his mustachioed face.
6. The Macarena - Who The Hell Cares
I included this one just to piss people off.
5. Through the Fire and Flames - DragonForce
This is the final bonus song from Guitar Hero 3, and so I think it’s fitting that an application to make video game music is used to perform a song made famous by yet another video game. Plus the song shreds, hard. (Warning, it’s 7:56 long)
4. Take on Me - Ah Ha
I can visualize Mario taking on the world in his quest. And this song is from the 80s, which everyone says was cool and is hip now.
3. What is Love? - Haddaway
It wasn’t like this hit from Haddaway wasn’t already well known throughout our planet, but Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan cemented its legacy in their SNL skit and movie Night at the Roxbury. I can just picture Mario bobbing his head to the side while scoping out ladies with the Mario Paint version blaring.
2. Chocolate Rain - Tay Zonday
In case you’ve been living under a rock and weren’t one of the 28 million viewings of Chocolate Rain, here is the Mario Paint version. What’s great is that this song seems perfect for Mario Paint, which probably shows how lame the original is! The “Meow Meow” is a great touch. Do you think Mario leans away from the Mic to breathe in?
1. Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
How could this not be #1?
